Internet E-mail about ANWR

June 29, 2008

ANWR is the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve. Democrats oppose drilling there because it is a pristine wilderness that we need to protect. Oh, really? What this e-mail points out is the truth about where the drilling will actually be and the truth about the area including maps and pictures.

We tried to verify this on SNOPES but were not able to find any mention of it, so we present it here without vouching for its accuracy.

FIRST – do you know what ANWR is?
ANWR = Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Now a comparison

Alaska to US comparison

 Now some perspective:

Alaska and proposed ANWR drilling site

NOTE WHERE THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AREA IS. It’s in the ANWR Coastal Plain.

THESE ARE PICTURES OF WHAT THE DEMOCRATS, LIBERALS AND GREENS SHOW YOU WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT ANWR and they are right, these ARE photographs of ANWR.

 ANWR

ANWR

WELL THAT’S NOT EXACTLY THE TRUTH. Do you remember the map? The map showed that the proposed drilling area is in the ANWR Coastal Plain. Do those photographs look like a coastal plain to you? WHAT’S GOING ON HERE? THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE, THAT IS NOT WHERE THEY ARE WANTING TO DRILL! BELOW IS WHAT THE PROPOSED EXPLORATION AREA ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE IN THE WINTER.

ANWR

AND THIS IS WHAT IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE IN THE SUMMER.

HERE IS A SCREEN SHOT FROM GOOGLE EARTH.

OH! AND THEY SAY THAT THEY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE EFFECT ON THE LOCAL WILDLIFE. HERE IS A PHOTO (SHOT DURING THE SUMMER) OF THE DEPLETED WILDLIFE SITUATION CREATED BY DRILLING AROUND PRUDHOE BAY. DON’T YOU THINK THAT THE CARIBOU REALLY HATE THAT DRILLING?

There’s plenty more to this e-mail, but we think you get the idea.

The actual facts are absolutely on Snopes – absolute lie that you couldn’t find it there.

    John,

Who’s the LIAR? When we checked the day the article was posted, it was NOT there. Check the date that SNOPES posted the article on July 2 (at the very bottom). We posted our article on June 29th. So who’s the liar now? Besides that, most of the e-mail information is TRUE!

When is the national media going to pick up on this truth about what the Arctic Coastal Plain REALLY looks like……

How about the fact that you can not drive there, walk there, take a boat to there…. The only way to reach this entire area is to CHARTER a flight at great expense…..$600.00 to $800.00 EACH WAY and then there is nothing there.

President Obama needs to see these photos and understand he is being used by environmental groups (like Sierra Club, ((large campaign donors)), Friends of Earth and others like them) whose intrest is only in raping the public for money to stay in business. One full page “Alaska” add in the New York Times depicting the false images of the ANWR region showing forests(which do not exist on the coastal plain) and majestic mountains(photos taken under special conditions in select locations to enhance their size and appearance) nets Hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions from well meaning people who are being lied to about the scope of what is going on up north and what the area ACTUALLY looks like…

Does the photo of the bear walking on the pipeline look like a fake to anyone else? With so many photo processing software packages on the market today, a person can create a photo of any animal walking across the pipeline. I don’t know if it is fake, but to me, it looks suspicious.

Look at the picture of the caribou in front of the factory. How is it that one animal is completely above ground and one right next to it totally submerged in the bush? Why doesn’t the caribou in the foreground have a body? This photo is a fake.

I think the emails whining about snopes and fake photos are “seminar”
emailers, they get their marching orders from obama dna soros and enviro-terrorists, all of whom want to strangle Americans with sky-high oil and gas prices – they won’t be happy till we’re all walking miles to work and our food prices go thru the roof and we’re all eating soylent green that THEY dispense.

    Drill ANWR, drill EVERYWHERE.

Got something to say?
