Congressman Tom Price [Hero] of Georgia Checks In
August 27, 2008
8/25/08 Press Release
Return to Washington
Tomorrow, I return to Washington to continue our Speak-In started almost four weeks ago demanding that Speaker Pelosi call Congress back into session. Members of the House of Representatives committed to a sensible, comprehensive energy plan have continued our call for action, and we will not rest. It is imperative that we act to address America’s primary concern – more domestic exploration and production, greater conservation, and finding the “energy of the future.”
Four-Day Work Weeks for Bureaucrats
Based on a recent news report, Democrat leaders in Washington have set the ball rolling to develop a plan which would set a four-day work week for federal employees. While this may make some sense and be a small part of moving forward, without a positive ‘all of the above’ comprehensive energy policy, it is an affront to hard-working Americans who are facing longer hours and more work just to cover the rising price of food, energy, and health care.
The majority’s insistence on a paid five-week vacation while avoiding action on an American energy plan simply shows how our current congressional leadership is out of touch with mainstream America.
The four day work week was proposed because of high gas prices. It costs too much for our bureaucrats to get to work… Any wonder why they oppose increasing domestic supply which would drive down gas prices? How many of us have a four day work week and still make over $100,000 a year? We’re FEDUP! – FedUpEditor
