Obama and Democrats Are On Notice

We fiscal conservatives don’t believe this economic plan of yours will work. Even so, it is not up to the principles the nation was founded on. Nowhere did the framers ever expect that one class would work and pay taxes to support another. And it’s unbelievable that such a great country as the United States has fallen for it!

By singling out various groups of people, WalMart, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Big Oil, Big Pharmaceutical, The Rich and so on, you are taking one group of people and/or businesses (after all, businesses are run by and employ people) and targeting them. While you confiscate taxes from them, you turn around and hand it over to those special interests of yours so that you will get re-elected and your party will stay in power forever.

What is this about Obama going to bring us together? How is playing class envy or pitting people against businesses bringing us together? We are all Americans. We have a great country! We want to keep it that way! And it will take all of us to turn this around! We are the ones who make this country work, not the politicians! It’s time to stop spending.

Everyone is being hurt. By over taxing big businesses, you are taking capital out of the system that would be used to expand and create jobs, all while trying to help the little guy who needs that job. Unintended consequences. And where is the compassion? I heard a woman on the radio today that makes more money form unemployment than she would if she worked. However, she PAYS TAXES ON HER UNEMPLOYMENT! Here she is, barely making it, and our compassionate government is making her pay income taxes! And social security tax! And disability tax! If you think they are out to help the little guy, you are mistaken.

Here is a note I wrote to our Marin County Republican group after the Central Committee meeting last night. It explains the problem we have all across the country in the party… liberals and moderates!

Group,

Yes, I know. The chairman just got installed at the last meeting I went to. But I think the sentiment is that we need some strong conservative leadership and that is what is long overdue. Morgan Kelly, the past chairman, also voted against the censure along with the blond woman who admitted she was a moderate (whatever that means). Like you said to me last night, we don’t need Democrat-lite. That’s what we had with McCain and is the reason we lost the election. He was chosen by open primaries early on by liberals and moderates as well as independents (probably some Democrats in there too). And that’s what Moldonado wants to do with our California primaries too. This is why he needs to join another party. Even if it’s unlikely to get passed, we shouldn’t stand to have people representing us who even think this way.

Back to our chairman, I spoke with my good friend and district representative, Frank Tallarida, after the meeting. He tells me a lot of the appointments are made to those who have been there the longest, not what they believe. Are we going to be like the post office or the education system where tenure rules? Even with only two months, I am not sure our chairman has what it takes to get the party back on track. This is no time for weenie moderates. We need people with passion and principles. Not just someone who wants to be chairman because it will look cool on her resume (no offense). I sounds like one of her pet projects was this fundraising thing they announced at the last 2 meetings. Problem is, if we don’t have an issue or two to support, why would I waste my money to build the committee coffers?

I just saw Tim’s post and he makes good points. Apparently turn out has been poor at most of these meetings, so the representatives were overwhelmed when they didn’t get to shoot through their agenda and get out of there before 8:30. And I think you’re right. We should tackle ONE ISSUE AT A TIME. Everyone is always trying to “eat the whole elephant” at once and that’s where we lose our message. On taxes, either you’re liberal or you’re conservative. Either you’re for higher taxes, more spending and bigger government or you’re not. There is no place for a moderate in that discussion.

This is the perfect time to take a stand as we have tax and spend liberals running the country. We can actually show that Republicans are different… and if they are not they get censured! Moldonado and his 5 other buddies are giving the GOP a bad name. What needs to be made clear (and we did it last night) is that they don’t represent OUR party! If that offends some people, then they don’t belong in the GOP. And you make a good point. Is it on the record who opposed the censure? I want those names and have THEM held accountable.

Sorry to do a little rambling, but I am in the middle of launching a new business and I sure as hell don’t want Obama and his pals taking everything I earn to give to someone who can not or will not make their mortgage payments!  I’m fighting mad!

The good news is that a lot of people showed up for this meeting where usually only the representatives are there. That means people are mad and not going to take it anymore. You want sustainable energy, how about a sustainable country? This spending has got to stop and the best way is at the state level!
