Newt asks you to join the conservative revolution

August 31, 2009

Note: I am not a big Newt Gingrich supporter. Though he did a lot to get the contract with America when he ran the House when Republicans controlled it, but his recent cozying up with Hillary Clinton on her health care plan and some of his recent antics make me wary of where he really stands on issues. Again, I think it is the difference between being a conservative and being a politician. I think Newt is the latter. – FedUpEditor

President Obama and his allies in Washington rammed through a $787 Billion package to “stimulate” our economy, and the Obama Stimulus has completely failed.

This policy of politicians borrowing from the Chinese to pay off big business and big bureaucracy has not created a single job, nor jumpstarted our economy. Contrary to all the rosy predictions and promises made, the Obama Stimulus has only succeeded in growing our annual deficit to an unprecedented $1.8 Trillion while our country continues to bleed jobs at a historic clip. America now borrows 46 cents for every dollar Uncle Sam spends as unemployment continues to swell closer to 10 percent.

The Left argues that “stimulus” is how you grow the economy, but most Americans know that you grow the economy by creating the conditions for stronger job creation. President Obama just doesn’t get it. His liberal Stimulus package failed, and now he wants to double down on failure with energy and health care taxes that will kill jobs and economic growth for years to come. But we understand that creating permanent, long-term economic growth and new jobs requires a real “change” in how Washington does business.

Four very bold “Reagan-Style” tax changes will reinvigorate America’s small businesses, spur job growth, and bring back prosperity:

  1. Cut Payroll Taxes in Half for two years to substantially increase worker take-home pay and encourage employers to create more jobs.
  2. Abolish the Capital Gains Tax so America can compete with China. This will spark an American economic renaissance with capital investment for new factories, new companies and technologies, and new long lasting jobs.
  3. Reduce the Corporate Tax Rate to match Ireland’s 12.5 percent to make America immediately more competitive in the world market instead of punishing businesses and sending good jobs overseas.
  4. Eliminate the Death Tax to stop double-taxing and punishing responsible Americans by confiscating from those who work hard, provide, and save for their families.

Each of these commonsense policy solutions would drive job creation and truly stimulate our economy. We can create a new era of enduring prosperity without tax increases, bailouts for the irresponsible, and wasteful government spending. Reasonable Americans, and especially conservatives, need to once again get engaged in the battle of ideas. Our country needs and deserves better policy ideas than what we’re getting out of Washington.

And that is why Citizens for the Republic (CFTR), needs your urgent contribution of $25 or more to not only stop the reckless spending, tax and cap climate bill, and government takeover of healthcare, but offer positive and proven solutions for the future.

As a special thank you for a donation of $75 or more I will send you a copy of my documentary, Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny.

This groundbreaking film documents the life and legacy of the 40th President of the United States and includes never-before-seen interviews with former heads of state, cabinet officials and White House staff.

Started in 1977, by Ronald Reagan, Citizens for the Republic continues the charge he gave us-to promote the principles of limited government, maximum freedom, personal responsibility, peace through strength, and defense of the dignity of every individual. Citizens for the Republic is dedicated to defending our rights and making sure that America remains that Shining City Upon a Hill.

CFTR needs your immediate financial support to speak out and oppose the ineffective, wasteful, and reckless policies of the Obama Administration. By working with CFTR, you can play a vital role in rebuilding our country and our movement from the bottom up with solutions that will create jobs and usher in a new era of prosperity and balanced budgets.

Your urgent contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or more to CFTR will enable CFTR to send a clear message that the conservative values we share are alive and strong in America. And remember as a special thank you for a donation of $75 or more I will send you a copy of my documentary Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny. Our country needs your support to remain strong, free, and prosperous. Please make your generous contribution today! Thank you.

Sincerely,
Newt Gingrich

Government-Run Health Care: A Disaster for Small Businesses

August 29, 2009

A message from Congressman John Boehner: A report in the Dayton Business Journal found that “[t]he affordability of offering health insurance ranks among the top issues on the minds of Ohio small business owners.” This is no surprise. As a former small businessman, I know how expensive it can be to provide health coverage for employees. The Republican health care solution will help fix this problem; the Democrats’ government takeover of health care would only make it worse.

THE DEMOCRATS’ GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER: A DISASTER FOR SMALL BUSINESSES.

In “a major blow to President Obama and his allies,” the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) – a coalition of small businesses – wrote an open letter to Congress opposing the Democrats’ health care takeover. Why? Because a government takeover would be a disaster for small businesses. NFIB argued it would limit choices and raise costs on small businesses (you can read their letter here). The Wall Street Journal says it would mean “fewer jobs.”

Bottom line: with Ohio’s unemployment rate now at 11.2 percent and the White House announcing an unprecedented $9 trillion deficit over the next ten years, the last thing we need is more jobs-killing legislation. We can lower health care costs and expand coverage without a costly, partisan government takeover.

A REPUBLICAN PLAN FOR HELPING SMALL BUSINESSES PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HEALTH COVERAGE.

The Republican health care solution that I support includes several reforms to lower costs and help small businesses provide affordable coverage by:

  • Establishing small-business health plans which allow smaller firms to band together through associations and purchase quality health care — even across state lines — at a more affordable cost; and
  • Providing small businesses tax credits to defray the administrative costs of providing health coverage for their employees.

Our plan also gives states incentives to reform their insurance markets so insurance companies are able to compete and increase employers’ and employees’ purchasing power. And it reins in the junk lawsuits that lead to defensive medicine and higher premiums.

NEWS YOU CAN USE.

  • Washington Times: Small businesses turn against health plan
  • USA Today: Growing deficit frames health care debate
  • Bloomberg News: Obama Goes Postal, Lands in Dead-Letter Office
  • Wall Street Journal: Martin Feldstein: Feldstein: ObamaCare Is All About Rationing THANK YOU.

Summer is quickly winding down and Congress will be back in Washington soon. Please don’t hesitate to let me know what’s on your mind and how the big issues of the day ought to be addressed. Thank you again for your continued support.

    Sincerely,

    John Boehner

  • Immigration Concerns Growing in Health Care Debate

    August 29, 2009

The debate on whether or not illegal aliens will receive benefits under the proposed health care plans is gaining momentum according to new reports. Some of the increased discussion stems from statements made by President Barack Obama during a radio interview last week where he reiterated his belief that the current House proposal doesn’t extend benefits to illegal aliens, but he would be open to offering coverage in special cases.

“None of the bills that have been voted on in Congress, and none of the proposals coming out of the White House propose giving coverage to illegal immigrants – none of them,” Obama said on Michael Smerconish’s radio show last week. “That has never been on the table; nobody has discussed it. So everybody who is listening out there, when you start hearing that somehow this is all designed to provide health insurance to illegal immigrants, that is simply not true and has never been the case.”

“I think there is a basic standard of decency where if somebody is in a death situation or a severe illness, that we’re going to provide them emergency care,” he said. “But nobody has talked about providing health insurance to illegal immigrants. I want to make that absolutely clear.”

Two amendments proposed in the House that would require citizenship verification before receiving taxpayer-funded health care were defeated. Section 246 of H.R. 3200 prevents anyone in the country illegally from receiving benefits, but no verification mechanisms are in the bill. Rep. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) and Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga.) both offered amendments to add verification, but both were defeated in committee.

Border Expert Explains Consequences of Illegal Immigration on the Environment

By Anne Manetas, Friday, August 28, 2009, 10:00 AM

Securing our southern border raises interesting environmental issues. But there is no denying the environmental devastation along the border resulting from illegal immigration and our chronic failure to secure the borders.

We are pleased to be able to share with you the result of Janice Kephart’s work in using exclusive hidden camera video to tell the story of the negative effects of not stopping illegal immigration across the Mexican border.

    Recent Developments

Since the July 15, 2009, posting of the Center for Immigration Studies’ video, “Hidden Cameras on the Arizona Border: Coyotes, Bears, and Trails,” a lot has happened. None of it can be claimed to have been caused by the video, but there has been an interesting uptick in events in Washington and on the southeast Arizona border since its posting. While each of the events involving the federal government has acquired a hue of spin or premeditated silence, it does seem that a change is a coming – if the pressure keeps mounting. The Border Patrol is ramping up, the Forest Service has closed off some of the worst illegal layup areas due to potential bear encounters, and Congress is asking a lot of questions.

    Border Patrol

On July 30, 2009, borderinvasionpics.com captured on film the largest group of illegal aliens in its 10 months online: 41. They looked tired, having just come up a steep climb through the Coronado National Forest, many of them resting and then moving on. In juxtaposition, just this past week, for the first time, the Border Patrol moved into the border area in high numbers, cutting off some of the trails leading to the hidden cameras. According to our sources, agents in the field say increased numbers of agents patrolling south of the mountains 24/7 is permanent, as are scope trucks and agents with all-terrain vehicles (they are often on foot). More men, more vehicles, and more technology are on the ground to help stem the flow. In addition, up near the rendezvous points where the trails end, the Border Patrol have set up ‘tent cities’ and the initial action has stopped groups of aliens from successful entry.

    Congressional Action

On July 31, 2009, the ranking Republicans on the House Homeland Security, Oversight and Government Reform, and Natural Resources Committees, wrote Department of Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano asking for documentation and answers regarding the Border Patrol’s responsibilities and agreements with the Department of Interior that support obtaining operational control of the border in light of the sensitive environmental impact of such activity on over 800 miles of federal land. Specifically, the letter stated:

Comprised of wildlife refuges, national parks and national forests, these lands represent some of the most culturally and environmentally sensitive areas in the country. Due to their sparse population, lack of development, and location on the border, these lands often serve as gateways for illegal aliens, smugglers, and possibly terrorists to enter the United States.

Given the magnitude of our underlying concerns, we are writing to request information relating to agreements between DHS and Department of the Interior agencies and the U.S. Forest Service. In particular, we respectfully request information concerning USBP access to lands under the jurisdiction of these agencies, including USBP’s ability to patrol these areas and install important surveillance and communication equipment.

To address the existing matters, it is vital for us to better understand the critical situation along our nation’s borders and the coordination between agencies.

    Daily Rant – August 28, 2009

    August 28, 2009

Is the Obama administration losing steam? The problem with trust is, once you lose it, it’s harder to get back than it is to keep it in the first place. Look at all the programs we have been “given” that Americans do not want.

We started off with the stimulus. Yes, Bush got the ball rolling, but remember he had a majority of Democrats in the House and Senate. He was essentially a lame duck and the legislation would have passed anyway. Democrats have always said that Roosevelt was right to spend his way out of the depression; it’s just that he didn’t spend enough soon enough to make a difference. So now we have, and what was the result? Operation Enduring Stupidity brought to you by the Obama administration. They plan on doing another one to “jump start” the economy. Remember my bath tub reference? Taking money out of one end and pouring it into the other does not raise the level of the water. Taxing one segment of the population takes money out of the economy and drops it back into another. Result? No increase in the economic level.

While we are on the topic of stupidity, let’s take one out of order but along the same lines as the bath tub explanation. Cash for Clunkers. Instead of giving a tax break to everyone which would really help our economy, they decided to take money from one group and give it to another group to buy new cars. The program was so mismanaged the government ran out of money within a few short weeks. Some dealers still had not been reimbursed at the time of this writing. But let’s look at it this way. Months ago we used our tax money to bail out a couple of car companies. So just because these people who bought a new car from the Cash for Clunkers program were saving money at the time of the transaction, they paid on the front end with their taxes to bail out the car companies in the first place! So how much did that new car really cost? Unfortunately this is how the health care program will work.

How much in taxes will we have to pay in order to get that FREE medical exam? My guess is thousands of dollars. I guess I am going out of order again. Very few people want this legislation. The only ones who do are liberal Democrats (socialists) and Obama sycophants. Once again it’s the entitlement mentality. If I can get someone else to pay for my health care, then good for me. Problem is, there is not enough money coming from taxes to pay for all the programs we already have; thus the deficit. The national debt is ticking away (look at the ticker on the TAXES tab), and there is little chance we will ever see it at zero again. It used to be said the national debt was no big deal because we owed it to ourselves. Not true anymore. The Chinese have been buying our debt which puts us in danger of losing our country.

Back to health care. Democrats are ready to pass this no matter what. Politicians, in jeopardy of losing their seats, are still pushing the bill. Angry mobs (their word, not mine) are filling town halls and airing their displeasure, but do they care? It seems not. Rationing, death panels, health czar making sweeping bureaucratic decisions and spending more money when we are already out of it has not stopped the Democrats from pursuing this course of action. Why would that be? It is more insidious than I originally thought. Health care will put politicians in charge of… everything!

If you eat too much saturated fats, smoke or basically don’t live the way they think you should, you could be denied treatment. If Republicans are in office, Democrats could be denied treatment for any number of reasons. If Democrats are in office, the reverse could be true. If you choose not to participate you will be fined. If you don’t pay the IRS will come and take the money from you. I have a friend who failed to file taxes for three years and, even though they were supposed to get a refund, the IRS swooped in, charged them penalties and interest and put a freeze on their bank account… all because they hadn’t filed. That person is still paying off the debt at about $250 a month. This person makes less than $30,000 a year. So much for Democrats not taxing the little guy.

Finally, let’s talk about cap and trade! This bill will add hundreds of dollars to our already high energy bills all because our weak legislators refuse to allow us to develop our own energy sources. Not only that, they are going to tax what we already do produce at a higher rate! So much for not taxing the little guy. Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the House, thinks if we just limit energy, everyone will use less and save the planet. Meanwhile she jets from Washington, DC to California and back in her own jet THAT WE PAID FOR spewing carbon along the way. Even though she and her husband are rich, they have been living off our dime for as long as she has been in office. USE YOUR OWN MONEY, NANCY! You friggin’ elite snob! I don’t have a problem with her using a jet, I have a problem with her using OUR jet while she goes on and on about saving the planet! Hypocrite!

I could go on, but I’m not… I’m supposed to be on vacation!

No Death Panels? No Rationing? Read About Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel

    August 27, 2009

From Rush Limbaugh’s show today. Remember, this is Rahm Emanuel’s brother who is the one who essentially wrote the health care legislation for Congress.

RUSH: Betsy McCaughey, who is one of the people doing yeoman work deciphering the contents, the details of every Democrat health care plan that’s proposed starting with Hillarycare, has another piece today in the Wall Street Journal entitled, “‘Obama’s Health Rationer-in-Chief — White House Health-Care Adviser Ezekiel Emanuel,’” brother of Rahm Emanuel, “‘Blames the Hippocratic Oath for the ‘Overuse’ of Medical Care’ — Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, health adviser to President Barack Obama, is under scrutiny. As a bioethicist, he has written extensively about who should get medical care, who should decide, and whose life is worth saving. Dr. Emanuel is part of a school of thought that redefines a physician’s duty, insisting that it includes working for the greater good of society instead of focusing only on a patient’s needs. Many physicians find that view dangerous, and most Americans are likely to agree. The health bills being pushed through Congress put important decisions in the hands of presidential appointees like Dr. Emanuel.

“They will decide what insurance plans cover, how much leeway your doctor will have, and what seniors get under Medicare. Dr. Emanuel, brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, has already been appointed to two key positions: health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of the Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research. He clearly will play a role guiding the White House’s health initiative. Dr. Emanuel says that health reform will not be pain free, and that the usual recommendations for cutting medical spending (often urged by the president) are mere window dressing. As he wrote in the Feb. 27, 2008, issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA): ‘Vague promises of savings from cutting waste, enhancing prevention and wellness, installing electronic medical records and improving quality of care are merely ‘lipstick’ cost control, more for show and public relations than for true change.’

“True reform, he argues, must include redefining doctors’ ethical obligations. In the June 18, 2008, issue of JAMA, Dr. Emanuel blames the Hippocratic Oath for the ‘overuse’ of medical care: ‘Medical school education and post graduate education emphasize thoroughness,’ he writes. ‘This culture is further reinforced by a unique understanding of professional obligations, specifically the Hippocratic Oath’s admonition to ‘use my power to help the sick to the best of my ability and judgment’ as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of cost or effect on others.’ In numerous writings, Dr. Emanuel chastises physicians for thinking only about their own patient’s needs. … Dr. Emanuel believes doctors should serve two masters, the patient and society, and that medical students should be trained ‘to provide socially sustainable, cost-effective care.’ One sign of progress he sees: ‘the progression in end-of-life care mentality from ‘do everything’ to more palliative care shows that change in physician norms and practices is possible.’”

Here is your death panel head honcho! He’s Obama’s lead advisor. I don’t want anybody to ever call here again and tell me there aren’t death panels. We’ve got a guy who says the problem with health care is the Hippocratic oath, and that doctors need to be retrained. They need to rethink end-of-life treatment and what’s better for society at large rather than what’s better for the individual patient. “‘In the next decade every country will face very hard choices about how to allocate scarce medical resources. There is no consensus about what substantive principles should be used to establish priorities for allocations,’ he wrote in the New England Journal of Medicine, Sept. 19, 2002. Yet Dr. Emanuel writes at length about who should set the rules, who should get care, and who should be at the back of the line. ‘You can’t avoid these questions,’ Dr. Emanuel said in an Aug. 16 Washington Post interview.

“‘We had a big controversy in the United States when there was a limited number of dialysis machines. In Seattle, they appointed what they called a ‘God committee’ to choose who should get it, and that committee was eventually abandoned. Society ended up paying the whole bill for dialysis instead of having people make those decisions.’” So what happened? Did we get more machines because the market demanded it? “Dr. Emanuel argues that to make such decisions, the focus cannot be only on the worth of the individual. He proposes adding the communitarian perspective to ensure that medical resources will be allocated in a way that keeps society going: ‘Substantively, it suggests services that promote the continuation of the polity — those that ensure healthy future generations, ensure development of practical reasoning skills, and ensure full and active participation by citizens in public deliberations… An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia.’ …

“In the Lancet, Jan. 31, 2009, Dr. Emanuel and co-authors presented a ‘complete lives system’ for the allocation of very scarce resources, such as kidneys, vaccines, dialysis machines, intensive care beds, and others. ‘One maximizing strategy involves saving the most individual lives, and it has motivated policies on allocation of influenza vaccines and responses to bioterrorism. … Other things being equal, we should always save five lives rather than one. ‘However, other things are rarely equal — whether to save one 20-year-old, who might live another 60 years, if saved, or three 70-year-olds, who could only live for another 10 years each — is unclear.’” Unclear? They’re thinking about it! It’s perfectly clear what their thinking is on this, and this is the guy that’s the number one health care adviser to Obama.

And they can sit out there and deny death panels all they want, but his number one adviser is saying: We treat too many people and we gotta change the focus. “Dr. Emanuel concedes that his plan appears to discriminate against older people, but he explains: ‘Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination. … Treating 65 year olds differently because of stereotypes or falsehoods would be ageist; treating them differently because they have already had more life-years is not.’ The youngest are also put at the back of the line: ‘Adolescents have received substantial education and parental care, investments that will be wasted without a complete life.” Do you understand? We are robots! He is looking at individual Americans, “Okay, how much has the government invested in them? How much has the government invested in educating them?”

Not their parents, not your family. How much has Washington, how much has the government invested if getting you born, in providing for you after you were born, in educating you? And if the government’s invested a lot in you they have a reasonable expectation of a return on the investment so you might get health care, if you’re young. If you’re old, forget it. That’s why people are showing up at the town hall meetings because people know all of this. “Dr. Emanuel has fought for a government takeover of health care for over a decade. In 1993, he urged that President Bill Clinton impose a wage and price freeze on health care to force parties to the table. ‘The desire to be rid of the freeze will do much to concentrate the mind,’ he wrote with another author in a Feb. 8, 1993, Washington Post op-ed. Now he recommends arm-twisting Chicago style.

“‘Every favor to a constituency should be linked to support for the health-care reform agenda,’ he wrote last Nov. 16 in the Health Care Watch Blog. ‘If the automakers want a bailout, then they and their suppliers have to agree to support and lobby for the administration’s health-reform effort.’” This is what he’s advocating: This miniature version of fascism. This is the man who’s the number one adviser to Obama on health care, the brother of the chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Make no mistake where this is headed. Make no mistake. Obama’s got cover. He’s got all these other lackeys out saying these things while he’s on stage claiming, “No, no, no, there’s not going to be death panels! It’s outrageous. I can’t believe people are misquoting me, misinformation, the lying, and all of these targets my plan that are being lied about,” and they’re not being lied about, and this is not what the American people want. Go ahead, put Ted Kennedy’s name on this bill and make this the most hypocritical decision you’ve ever made.

    BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Back to the phones we go to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Hi Vickie, great to have you with us today.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. I’m just angry. I love talking to you. But let’s say they do it, they force it through against the will of the American people, which is shown overwhelmingly in every poll in the country. They do it anyway. I understand that they can and probably will most likely be voted out when they come up for election, virtually every one of them, I believe. And conservatives will be sent in in their place with an overwhelming mandate to get rid of it, get rid of government-run health care. However, in the meantime there are people in this country, people with courage, anger, and a brain who will not partake, who will not cooperate. Just like there are people who will not answer the questions in the census. There are doctors and patients who will not do what they’re supposed to do. What will the government do about these millions of people?

RUSH: Now, that is an interesting question. The first thing to stipulate here is that if the bill passes, if it passes as it’s planned now, it will be four years before it’s implemented. And this is one of the reasons we ask, “What the hell is the hurry here? The thing doesn’t get implemented until 2013, what’s the big deal?” They wanted to get it implemented before all this rotten economic news and debt and deficit news hit. That is an interesting proposition. There will be a number of people who will just refuse to play, and they will become targets of the government. Now, with the empowerment of the IRS on here, you remember the IRS, if you don’t play, you are going to pay. They are going to fine you, they’re going to charge you as much as $2,500 to $8,000 a year taxes. The IRS is already an agency that is in existence that has a lot of people intimidated. I mean people do not want to get audited, people will pay their taxes, they’re scared to death of the IRS, government’s successfully built up this fear of the IRS over the years and that’s why the IRS is the number one enforcer here because they’ve already got –

CALLER: Except, except that there are people with courage and anger enough to say, “Screw you, I don’t do it, put me in jail,” and they put, what, thousands and thousands of people in jail? What are they going to do? Have them all fired? What can they do? I don’t have enough money to pay them anything.

RUSH: Wait a second. Wait a second. If this bill passes, I’m glad you asked the question. They’re going to have access to your bank account.

    CALLER: How?

RUSH: They’re going to have digital online access to your bank account. I mean there are hideous things in this piece of legislation.

CALLER: How do they get it?

RUSH: How do they get it?

CALLER: How do they get access to my bank account?

RUSH: They order every bank to turn over every account number to the IRS and they’re going to be able to go in and if you don’t pay they’re going to debit your account for you.

CALLER: So you don’t have any money, what do you do? There are people like my son who is 30 years old, he’s professional, he’s working, he’s upper middle class –

RUSH: They will garnish your wages. What does the IRS do now when you’re in arrears?

CALLER: Yeah, but if you’re working for yourself, and you don’t pay, what are they going to do, put thousands of people in jail?

RUSH: No, they’re going to fine you. They’re going to make sure that you pay. Even if you can’t pay they’re going to get their money and you’re going to be in debt.

CALLER: Do they say, you owe us and now we’re going to leave you alone?

RUSH: No. They’re going to take money that you don’t have and put you in debt. Put a lean on your house or any number of things they can do, put a lean on your house, they can take away a car, whatever.

CALLER: But seriously, Rush, are you seriously saying that all of the people that have gone to these town hall meetings who are angry enough –

    RUSH: No.

CALLER: — who have been shown to be in the millions.

    RUSH: No, no.

CALLER: They will all have their cars taken away; they will all have their jobs taken away; they will all be in debt?

RUSH: No. I’m saying that if that effort is made you’re going to have even more angry people and you might end up with a revolution.

CALLER: There you go. That’s my answer. Thank you.

RUSH: All right. See, I just had to string you along to a commercial break here.

RUSH: My friends, don’t doubt me on this bank business. Remember, the Obama administration succeeded in destroying Swiss banking. United Bank of Scotland gave up all those names of private accounts held by Americans so that Obama can collect their taxes, see if they’re evading taxes. Now, they own all the banks, anyway, for crying out loud. How many banks does Obama own? Now, something else. You know, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel’s plan is already being carried out. The UAW. United Auto Workers wanted their retirement pension fund bailed out to the tune of $10 billion, and they got it. It’s hidden in the health care reform bill, and they got it in exchange for supporting Obama’s health care plan. “The UAW was among a number of unions to meet with Obama at the White House on July 13th –” this is in the Detroit News, by the way “– to discuss health care reform and other issues. UAW legislative director Alan Reuther said last week the UAW had already taken an active role in pushing for health care reform.”

So Ezekiel Emanuel’s plan, “You want to be treated favorably, then you gotta support our plan.” The UAW, no-brainer here, I mean they’re Obama supporters, but what they got out of it is a $10 billion bailout, essentially, of their pension fund, which is in trouble. The story is three days ago. “The United Auto Workers is urging its members to back efforts in Congress to reform health care coverage, citing a provision that includes $10 billion to defray the medical costs of union members and others in retiree group health care associations.” So they pledge their support for Obamacare, and bammo, they get a provision in the bill. And this is how Obama’s doing it with Big Pharma and a number of others. It’s got even some of the liberals out there a little bit in a tizzy because they hate corporations.

RUSH: From Colorado.com: Representative Betsy Markey told a gathering of constituents in Fort Collins, Colorado, yesterday that “Some people, including Medicare recipients, will have to give up some current benefits to truly reform the nation’s health-care system.” That’s exactly right, Representative Betsy Markey told a gathering of her constituents in Fort Collins, Colorado, she’s a lib, that some people, including Medicare recipients, are going to have to give up some current benefits to truly reform the nation’s health care system. Now, the last living Kennedy brother, Barack Obama, says no, that’s not true. Obama is saying we’re going to cut waste and fraud in Medicare; nobody is going to suffer any benefit cuts. But here are his Democrats running around, “Oh, yeah, you’re going to get some, there are going to be some.” Of course there have to be! There have to be. Folks, Medicare doesn’t have any money; Social Security doesn’t have any money; everything the Democrats have given us is bankrupt, including the country.

There is much more, but you have to be a member to access the story.

    McCain – Retire Already!

Senator McCain is up for re-election in 2010. After listening to his most recent town hall I am convinced he should retire. People of the state of Arizona, do the United States a favor; SEND McCain home and elect a NEW Republican to replace him. If the Republican Party has any sense, jetison him now or risk losing that seat to a Democrat. People were very upset at McCain’s inability to oppose Obama.  To hell with him. Send him home and let’s get a REAL conservative in office instead of this limp-wristed weenie.

This senile old man is talking about saving the public health care plan. If he does this, people of Arizona must know they have to get rid of him!

They want to pass the health care bill and name it after Ted Kennedy? If he was under the health care plan, he would never have lived as long as he did! What a joke and what hypocrisy! He wanted to pass a bill that he would never have been a part of.

We didn’t want it when Hillary was working on it, and we don’t want it now! I don’t care who has died for them to try and get it through. So what if one person dies when millions will be saved if we defeat this bill?

So Ted Kennedy has died. Not to be disrespectful, but it was time for the old blowhard to go. If death is the only way to get a new person in that senate seat, so be it. The guy grasped to power like few other politicians have. Of course, there have been Republican hangers on as well. But this guy was so full of himself,  I have no doubt had he fallen into a coma, he would have had instructions to stay on life support in order to keep his seat. Egomaniac.

Kennedy’s socialist policies have hurt Americans more than they know. It was his education bill, “no child left behind” that the liberals were constantly bashing because they associated it with Bush. WRONG! It was a Ted Kennedy bill and no one else’s. He is the one to blame. Arrogant.

Go through the list of legislation he passed or was part of and you will see a constant of socialism, if not facism in all of his bills. As one who has always sat atop the political landscape passing bills for you and me, he has always been one of the ruling class and better than most. He was never one of us. If it was about ENERGY, ENVIRONMENTAL EXTREMISM, ILLEGAL AMNESTY, EDUCATION, TAXATION, Kennedy was always on the left side of things… count on it.

Remember the windmills Kennedy kept from being built offshore from his property? Even though he wouldn’t have been able to see them, he didn’t want them in his neighborhood! Hey, I thought he was for alternative energy. Guess it just depends on whose back yard it’s in that matters. Hypocrite!

Now that Obama is going for offshore accounts and Kennedy is dead, will he look into the Bermuda and Cayman island accounts that the Kennedy family has? What about Fiji? I heard he has some money stashed there as well… to avoid taxes. Remember, those are the things we Americans need to pay to be patriotic!

Ted Kennedy was too powerful for too long and it’s about time it came to an end. I am sorry it was as a result of his death, but could it have happened any other way?

In closing, Pelosi will try and push this health care debacle in Kennedy’s name as it was one of his life’s dreams. Forget it, Nancy. We will not forget what a jerk old Kennedy has been and are not fooled by the propaganda. Our next goal is to get you out of the speaker’s chair! 2010!

Hey, hey, ho, ho. John McCain has got to go! Let’s help get a real conservative in office in Arizona! He’s on the road to help pass health care for the Democrats. Once again, he is turning liberal and needs to step down. Retire already. What an ASS! And he was the Republican’s choice for president?
