We NEED Energy!

September 16, 2009

With health care on the front burner, it is easy to forget about other important issues. In spite of what liberals tell you, we need more and more energy and the jobs the industry brings with it. Let’s make our voices heard about this important topic! – FedUpEditor

API – You might remember that back in February, Sec. Salazar announced that he was extending the public comment period for the Draft Proposed Program on Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) energy development. The close of the public comment period is right around the corner—September 21—and soon MMS will analyze the comments and make its recommendations.

I also wanted to thank you for your post and support in April. If you’re still interested in the offshore drilling debate, please feel free to use the resources available here on Energy Tomorrow. Alternatively, you can go directly to the MMS Web site to submit a comment.

To underscore how important the oil and natural gas industry is to the U.S. economy, a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers study found that it supports more than 9 million American jobs and contributed $1 trillion to the economy in 2007. More details about the study are available in blog posts here and here. Please let me know if you have any questions.
