CBS News – 60 Minutes – Another Piece of… Propaganda

I am watching the 60 Minutes story (not by choice) on the failure of the government to be able to produce enough H1N1 Virus vaccinations. My wife likes the show, but I say they haven’t done any real reporting for many years. It is now a huge propaganda program. As the story unfolds, I am getting madder and madder at the lack real investigative journalism that used to define this show.

First, let me say had Bush been in office, Scott Pelley would have gone out of his way to embarrass the administration for yet another screw up like they did with Hurricane Katrina. Yet Kathleen Sebelius gets softball after softball from the sycophantic reporter. Not once was hers or the administration’s inept handling of this mess pointed out.

What else could you call a government that is pushing the fact that there is a pandemic of H1N1, and everyone should get vaccinated. But then they run out? Did anyone check the back room to see if they even had enough before they told us to go get the flu shot? DUH!

And if they were honest, it would have been a perfect opportunity to ask Sebelius the question: if the government can not manage a little program like the manufacturing and distribution a single vaccine for the virus, how in the hell do they expect to manage health care for everyone? After all, it is only the biggest question on the minds of voters right now.

But the opportunity came and went, and we hear that the Obama administration is doing all they can… which is nothing. It is up to the big drug manufacturers, the ones liberals are trying to put out of business. It’s shameful.
