Lisa Murkowski is What is Wrong With the Republican Establishment – OPINION
September 20, 2010
If you ask me, Lisa Murkowski [clueless] is the perfect example of what is wrong with what the Republican Party has become. It also shows why many people think there is no difference between the two parties. I mean, how many times have we seen Democrats clinging to their seats amid scandals and illnesses instead of doing what’s best for the country and stepping down?
Joe Miller won the primary; the mechanism for choosing someone to represent the party… and it wasn’t the incumbent. Yet Murkowski, seemingly a spoiled child who was originally APPOINTED by her father to the position, will not go quietly into that good night.
Her excuse for mounting a write-in campaign is that most of Miller’s money came from out of the state. So what? His VOTES didn’t! Miller was elected by Alaskan Republicans overwhelmingly. Why? Because he was the only conservative on the ticket!
There are other Tea Party candidates who won their races, and the Republican establishment seems truly afraid… Which makes you wonder whose side they are on.
Well, they should be scared. For years they have represented nothing but a lighter version of Democrat; but pro big government all the same. Now when the grass roots rise up, they don’t like it. We don’t understand, they say.
Nonsense. We understand perfectly. We KNOW what’s in the Constitution and what is happening in government is NOT even close!

Rep. Lynn Woolsey [clueless]: Fighting Childhood Obesity at School
July 2, 2010
Note: We are going to add comments in the body of the blog article to refute what she is saying. – Editor
It’s been 30 years since the regulations limiting junk food sales in schools were updated, despite big changes in nutrition science. Today, 23 million children and adolescents are obese or overweight. Obesity rates for children between 6 and 11 years old have more than tripled over the last 40 years. [Note: so has this ban helped? NO! Liberals think that by limiting something they can change people's behavior, but obesity is on the RISE! Take a look in the mirror, Lynn. You're getting up there yourself!]
Throughout their lives, these children are at greater risk for heart disease, Type 2 Diabetes, stroke, cancer, and social and psychological problems. One of the most important ways to help fight this epidemic is to ensure that higher quality, more nutritious foods are sold throughout the day in our schools. [Note: This will not solve the problem. What it will take is a change in mindset!]
This is why I have introduced H.R. 1324, the Child Nutrition Promotion and School Lunch Protection Act, which requires that all foods sold in schools throughout the entire school day are based on the most current nutrition science. [Note: More nanny state government bureaucracy! We're too stupid to think for ourselves!]
This bill has 170 cosponsors and has been endorsed by over 90 public health, school, food and beverage industry, and nutrition groups, including the American Beverage Association, General Mills, and the American Heart Association. I am pleased that this language has been included in Chairman George Miller’s (D-CA) H.R. 5504, the Improving Nutrition for America’s Children Act. [Note: And if everyone said it was a good idea to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge, would you do it, Lynn? (Please say yes!}]
This provision does not affect school parties or foods sold during sporting events or band concerts in which parents are present. It only regulates foods sold in schools, and allows USDA to exempt foods sold as part of fundraisers. It’s also important to realize that schools that are switching to selling healthier foods and are not losing revenue.
Studies by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Center for Weight and Health at U.C. Berkeley found that the majority of schools switching to healthier foods in their vending machines and a la carte lines actually increased their total revenues.
In other words, it is a win-win situation for schools—healthier students and a healthier bottom line as well.
[Note: This is a lose-lose for our schools since kids will now go off campus to the 7/11 or Safeway to buy their junk, leaving less time for studies. Lynne Woolsey, you are a loser! Resign now and let the grown ups run the government!]

Can Mass. Recall Barney Frank?
With the spotlight on Massachusetts and the special election around Scott Brown’s run for the Senate, there is a dark cloud representing the fourth district in that state. Democrat Congressman Barney Frank [clueless] is no stranger to corruption, yet he remains in office despite his arrogance. I want to do something about that. Can we hope for a challenger to Mr. Frank’s seat?
Some of you may already know this, but for those who do not, back in 2006, Frank’s personal aide was running a gay prostitution ring out of Barney’s apartment. Because of political correctness, this story was pretty much swept under the rug. After all, it wasn’t he, but a hired assistant who was running the illegal business. Had this been a Republican, I think you know what would have happened. Just look at what happens when a conservative taps his foot under a bathroom stall or sends a text to a male page!
Okay, so these scandals have come and gone. But what about the one brewing? Surely you’ve heard about this headline:
HOUSE PASSES HISTORIC LEGISLATION TO REFORM WALL STREET AND PROTECT THE ECONOMY
It’s on Barney Frank’s home page which says, “Today, the House of Representatives approved sweeping new legislation to modernize America’s financial rules in response to the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.” But do you know what this law actually does? (And did any Republican vote for it? If so, they need to go too.)
- Increases consumer protections by creating a new Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA), a new, independent federal agency solely devoted to protecting Americans from unfair and abusive financial products and services. (Can you say, “bureaucracy?”)
- Additionally, it creates the Financial Stability Council (FSC), a council of regulators that will identify financial firms that are so large, interconnected, or risky that their collapse would put the entire financial system at risk. (Another bureaucracy. I feel safer already, don’t you?)
- End Taxpayer Bailouts and “Too Big to Fail”, an orderly process to shut down failing institutions. (But did you know this does NOT apply to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? More on that later.)
- Rein in Executive Compensation among other regulations.
These last two items are the ones I want to discuss in more detail. Note that none of the above regulations apply to Barney’s personal treasure chests of Fannie Mae and Feddie Mac. To quote the Hill Blog:
“Mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are now basically a “public policy instrument” of the government, Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) suggested Tuesday.
“Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, asserted that the companies, which were taken over by the U.S. in September 2008, have become an extension of the government’s policy-making tools.”
Essentially what this means is that Freddie and Fannie have unlimited funds to operate; they have been given a blank check. It has been reported that the government (that’s you and me) stand to lose as much as $400 billion from this conservatorship. When these entities finally fail as they surely will, is Barney Frank going to be held accountable like he should be? Or will the press give him another pass?
This is not the worst of it. Barney Frank was responsible for the legislation to charge levies on the banks who paid their officers high salaries and bonuses (bullet 4 above). Go get them, Barney. But what about those Fannie and Freddie officers who also received salaries and huge bonuses? Mr. Frank admits they are too high, but nothing can be done about it. Oh, really? After all, aren’t they instruments of policy now under the federal government? I’ll bet if people put up enough of a stink, he would figure out something…or maybe not; he’s pretty arrogant from having gotten away with so much for so long.
Look at it this way. We loaned money to the banks and financial institutions to keep them from failing. Then they turned around and paid out huge salaries and bonuses to certain executives. Barney and his minions in the House swept in and did something about it to take them down a notch.
We also loaned money to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to keep them from failing. Then they turned around and paid out huge salaries and bonuses to CEOs. But this time Barney and his minions can do nothing about it. Is this because they are Barney’s “instruments of policy?”
CNN Money reports: “The $6-million compensation packages were approved by the Treasury Department and the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and made public on Dec. 24, 2009, Christmas Eve.”
The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) sounds a lot like the other bureaucracies being set up by Barney Frank in this new legislation chartered to police the financial institutions. But here’s the rub. FHFA’s mission statement says, “Provide effective supervision, regulation and housing mission oversight of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Home Loan Banks to promote their safety and soundness, support housing finance and affordable housing, and support a stable and liquid mortgage market.” WHAT A JOKE! They did none of those things… and we are paying their salaries and bonuses!
The worst part about the whole thing is that the subprime mess was actually orchestrated by Barney Frank in the first place! The Boston Globe reported this in 2008. Now he has been called on to fix it?
To summarize, thanks to Mr. Frank we are getting two new agencies who are going to do just as good (bad) a job at overseeing the financial institutions as FHFA was in overseeing Fannie and Freddie. Our government has become the personal wallet of Congressman Barney Frank, (D-MA) and must come to an end. THIS SPENDING HAS TO STOP!
What I am suggesting is a letter writing campaign to congress to protest Barney Frank’s actions. If he is justified in going after executives of one entity like the financial institutions, then he must also go after the lending giants’ executives. Personally I say, “hang them all, including Barney Frank.” Anyone with me?

Why Dorgan and Dodd are “Retiring” – OPINION
January 6, 2010
Here is my explanation as to why Dorgan and Dodd are “Retiring”. Let me start by saying I wish we could only be so lucky with Nancy Pelosi, Lynn Woolsey, Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. But let’s move on.
Dick Morris wrote a piece today that suggested Dodd and Dorgan (among other Democrats) were resigning to avoid the shame of losing in the fall. Maybe.
But the conventional wisdom is this; when faced with the prospect of losing, politicians often resign so they can get appointed to some cushy government job in Washington without being branded as total loser. But what does this say about the system?
It says it’s broken. After all, how many failed politicians are now roaming the halls in the bloated bureaucracy of Washington, DC? Look at how many in Clinton’s failed administration found homes in Obama’s government. And more and more, government officials go to the public sector from the public sector and have no private sector experience. If they have never done it, how can they know how to fix OUR problems? The answer is all around us in their failure to understand how free markets work.
Not long ago I read a story from USA Today saying that six figure salaries for federal employees exploded during Obama’s administration. That means the government which produces nothing, will need more of our money to pay those salaries.
How come unemployment in Washington, DC never increases? Have you noticed the only sector that hasn’t been hurt by the economy is government employment? While the news trumpets the fact that dropping unemployment indicates a rebounding economy, tell that to the unemployed who just lost their jobs! It’s like they are whistling in the dark hoping the economy will come back on its own so they can take credit for it. Sorry, the fundamentals are not there for a sound recovery, and students of economics know it.
Next we have the country being held hostage by a few crazies. After piling on regulations and legislation, Barney Frank turns around and blames the aberrant systems he morphed without so much as looking into the mirror. Even worse, he wants to regulate them… again. Last week they even gave Fannie and Freddie a blank check! As a result, the country is being held captive by the deviant whims of one congressman from the fourth district in Massachusetts. How is that Democracy?
Of course, the rest of the country could say the same thing about Nancy Pelosi’s iron fist, but we would agree. Here we have one crazy leftist from California who sets the legislative agenda for the rest of the United States in the House.
So the light at the end of the tunnel is this:
- Incumbent liberal senators and congressmen are “retiring” before they can be booted out (let’s hope some more announce their retirement)
- Many of the Democrats (the ones who gave them the majority in the Senate) were appointees and did not win special elections (they stand to lose to conservatives in the fall)
- Incumbent liberals who are not resigning are close to or are losing in the pollsto conservative challengers
- Recent polls show conservatism is a more popular sentiment than liberalism
The system has worked for over 200 years to make us the greatest country in the history of the world. We don’t need “hope and change” to take us into decline. If we make the right choices this year, it could be the greatest comeback ever known!

Baucus Acting Like Thug Dictator!
September 22, 2009
Way to go, Max. If you don’t like what they are saying, don’t debate… muzzle! It’s okay when congress misleads people with lies like no illegal aliens will be covered in the bill (then why vote down provisions ensuring this?) or that fining people who don’t participate in the program isn’t a tax. The insurance company is telling the truth. Baucus doesn’t like it. People of Montana, you need a RECALL! – FedUpEditor
Huffington Post – As Republicans in the Senate steadily drift away from Max [clueless] Baucus (D-Mont.), the finance committee chairman is beginning to move the opposite direction. After getting pounded by progressives for a bill that required middle-class Americans to purchase unaffordable health care from private insurance companies (as no public option would be available), Baucus revised the proposal to make the mandated coverage more affordable and reduced the cost of the penalty for not buying it.
At the same time, Baucus fired a shot across the bow of the insurance industry, urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to go after insurance companies who are sending letters to seniors with frightening warnings about supposed Democratic attempts to cut their benefits. (See Dawn Teo’s reporting on this here.)
CMS responded by muzzling the insurance companies and threatening legal action, writing that “we are instructing you to immediately discontinue all such mailings to beneficiaries and to remove any related materials directed to Medicare enrollees from your websites.”
They made clear they weren’t playing around: “Please be advised that we take this matter very seriously and, based upon the findings of our investigation, will pursue compliance and enforcement actions.”
The Wall Street Journal op-ed page hit the roof, complaining that Bacucus’ “latest bullying tactics are hard to believe.” And the insurance industry trade group, America’s Health Insurance Plans, denounced the “gag order.”
“Seniors have a right to know how the current reform proposals will affect the coverage they currently like and rely on,” said AHIP spokesman Robert Zirkelbach.
Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) took the Senate floor Tuesday to decry the CMS move. “‘Shut up,’ this gag order says,” McConnell said. “‘Be quiet and get in line.’” Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) followed him and read the First Amendment on the Senate floor.
Baucus insists that the insurers have no right to mislead seniors into believing that Medicare benefits would be cut. And CMS has a say over the companies’ communication with seniors, because it foots the bill.

Pete Stark [clueless] Begging to be Replaced
September 15, 2009
Once again a politician shows he considers himself one of the elite! – FedUpEditor
From Michelle Malkin - Nothing like another Pete Stark Raving Mad moment to show us all how Democrats conduct themselves with the utmost civility and dignity.
Add this one to his Greatest Unhinged Hits.
Stark attended a town hall meeting on health care in Fremont, Calif. over the weekend. A senior citizen lit into various Obamacare talking points and told Rep. Stark: “Don’t pee on my leg and then tell me it’s raining.”
At 1:38 of the video clip, Stark grabbed the microphone and lashed back: “I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.”

Baucus Says IRS Will Fine You For Not Having Health Insurance!
September 11, 2009
People in Montana, wake up! You’ve got a communist representing you in congress. Max Baucus [clueless] of Montana is putting together a “bi-partisan” plan for health care. We need to have the names of the “Gang of Six” (Want to bet McCain is part of that gang?) and get them all thrown out. WE DON’T WANT YOUR HEALTH CARE PLAN! Period, end of sentence! Get it? – FedUpEditor
Only hours before President Obama will deliver a speech detailing his plans for health care reform, Senate finance committee Chairman Max Baucus declared that he will put forth a proposal for sweeping health care reform by Sept. 21. Following a meeting with the bipartisan Gang of Six senators, Baucus told reporters that he will begin a committee markup by the week of Sept. 21, regardless of whether or not he has Republican support. The move is considered a last-ditch effort to mobilize Republican support behind overhauling the system. “The time has come for action,” Baucus said, “and we will act.” The chairman’s plan will exclude the public option, which he says “cannot pass the Senate,” but will introduce insurance cooperatives and taxes on insurance companies to help pay for reforms. Baucus’ announcement came amid mounting frustration with the bill’s lack of progress and criticism from constituents that he had not taken a strong enough stance on health care reform.
In the bill will be penalties for people who don’t have health insurance and guess who will enforce it? The IRS! It’s not a new idea. HR 3200 is full of references to the IRS keeping financial information and automatic payments for the health insurance. Face it, people. We are living in a socialist/communist society when our representatives don’t have to listen to us, their constituents!
Daily Rant – September 8, 2009
September 8, 2009
Congress is back in session… hold on to your wallets! There are a couple of destructive bills coming down the pike whether we want them or not. Keep and eye on this site to see which legislators vote for them.
One is the Cap and Trade bill. We will post here who voted for it so when their election is up in 2010, you know whether you want to support them or not.
The second is the Health Care bill. We have already made it clear we don’t want it, but the Obama administration is tone deaf. Obama along with cohorts Pelosi and Reid are determined to get this public “option” (can’t post that without laughing at the lie) through not matter what. Pelosi will push it because her seat is safe with all the San Francisco nutcases who will vote for her not matter what, and Reid because he is a weak leader in spite of his vulnerability in Nevada. Obama has 3+ years on his contract, so right now he has nothing to lose.
We will be watching very closely as these two bills will cripple our economy for years to come! And when they are passed, we will name the villains and the heroes who voted for and against them!

Daily Rant – August 21, 2009
August 21, 2009
Who would have thought that Minnesota’s citizens would rank Senator Al Franken as the worst? Actually, it makes sense since they didn’t really vote for him. Remember all that ballot hanky panky that caused him to get more votes than actually existed?
Here’s a guy who has been a television personality. Oh, sure, he’s been in a few movies in small parts and done a little radio commentary. But basically he is from the Saturday Night Live ilk as a comedian and writer. And like Bill Murray’s character, Frank Cross, in the movie Scrooged, Franken’s sole experience in politics has been from show business. Senator Franken’s contribution to the Sotomayor interviews was to bring up an episode of Perry Mason as his experience with the judicial system.
“Frank”ly, he is an angry, hateful guy who used Obama’s community organizer tactics to steal an election. I don’t know when Franken is up for re-election, but I can’t wait to see him get sent back to his Air America job on the radio. My question is this; if Norm Coleman was such a great guy why was the election so close that it could be stolen?
Democrats Grasp to Power
Ted Kennedy is dying of a brain tumor and wants to change the law in Massachusetts AGAIN to ensure that a Democrat will be his successor. Here’s the problem. They already changed the law in 2004 when Mitt Romney was the governor so that he would not name a Republican to replace Sen. John Kerry when he ran for president when he won. Now he wants to change it again so they can keep a Democrat in the seat when he dies. A communist to the end.
Yes, I said communist. What we are getting here is not a socialist society. If it were, everyone would be equal including the government. But they are sitting on top not having to follow the laws they pass for us mere mortals. And the only way to get away from their oppression is to be elected ourselves and rise in the party. How often does that happen? Just as with Russia, we peons toil for the good of the government turning well over half our earnings to them including payroll taxes, social security, medicare, disability, unemployment insurance payments as well as those taxes tacked onto our gasoline, telephone and utility bills. What will happen when we are at 100%? Where will the money come from then when people figure why work? I get just as much if I don’t.
Back to Democrats grasping to power (thought I lost my place, didn’t you?). I have written about this before, and will continue to do so. Kennedy is dying, but he refuses to step down. Power. South Dakota Senator, Tim Johnson, was in a coma after brain surgery, and the Democrats would not give up his seat because Republicans running the state would probably have replaced him with one of their own. Power. Clinton was impeached yet he refused to resign. He successfully convinced people it was just about sex when actually it was about lying under oath and affecting a court case. Power.
I’m sure Republicans are somewhat the same. After all, they are government employees too. But quite often you see GOP senators and congressmen step down from various positions of power when they are caught. Why the double standard? Is it because Republicans are supposed to have standards while Democrats do not? Look at how many times there is a law in place and Democrats wipe out that chalk line and draw a newer one a little further down the road so they can stay in power. Amazing. You rarely hear of Republicans doing that.
Before you think I am a big Republican supporter, I am not. I am a conservative. If RINOs need to go, then goodbye. If people run on one thing and then lie to the people, they need to go, regardless of party. It’s like Arlen Specter or Jim Jeffords. They ran as Republicans and switched parties to Democrat. I’m sure the people who voted them in were not pleased to find that they voted for a Republican and got a Democrat. Again, you rarely see politicians going the other way. Power.
Public Vs. Private
Obama keeps making the statement that public insurance will not drive private insurance companies out of business. He cites the case of FedEx and UPS competing with the post office and doing it better. Remember, these two private companies are not allowed to do letter delivery, only parcels. Besides, Obama says FedEx and UPS are kicking the US Postal Service’s butt. Okay, then why do a public insurance option? We have the post office because it was originally created to take letters across state lines, thus a federal job. But if private companies do it better, why have it at all? Can you say UNIONS? Government union workers is the answer. Side note: Did you know Geico stands for Government Employee’s Insurance Company? I am not sure I made my point, but give it some thought and drop me a line.
Message to Congress
Obama is usurping your power. By creating all these czars he is taking decisions away from the legislative branch and putting them with the executive branch in the form of uncontrolled and unelected panels. Listen to me:
Obama will not always be in power! The president will not always be a Democrat. Think about the dangerous situation you are setting up by giving up so much of your power to the president. Remember that eventually there will be a Republican president and then what? Do you really want an evil Republican to have all that unbridled power? Better think twice about this, even if it is YOUR president!

Daily Rant – May 6, 2009
May 6, 2009
How does it feel now, Mr. Specter [clueless]? We’ve been getting shafted by both you and the Democrats for a long time. Now it’s your turn.
Democrats were outraged by the deal that Harry Reid made to Specter. In return for changing party affiliation, they promised he could keep his seniority. Not so fast, Mr. Reid. As Senate Majority Leader, Reid’s seat may be in jeopardy in the next election, as it should be. For a state that revels in its conservative values, how could they elect such a left wing kook in the first place? But polls show that Reid could lose his seat.
His party knows that and probably feels justified to strip Specter of his seniority when so many other Democrats have been around longer and want their due. It makes me happy to see people like Specter get what’s coming to them. I say good riddance! Here is the Newsmax story.
