Final thoughts on cash for clunkers that I may not have tied all these items together in one post:
- We were taxed and those taxes were used to bail out some of the auto companies.
- We were taxed again and these taxes were taken out of the treasury and used to fund the cash for clunkers program.
- People who took advantage of the cash for clunkers program are going to be taxed as ordinary income AGAIN on the value they were given from the program!
Talk about a Ponzi scheme! The taxes are being taxed again and again! How’s that hope and change working for you? I can’t wait to see how they screw up our health care!

We owe Obama thanks for a couple of things.
Actually it was the economy going in the tank that we should be thanking. Had the health care plan been the first thing on the Obama agenda it would have been passed by the house and senate and signed by the president before we even knew what was happening.
Instead, the first thing we got TARP and the Stimulus bills to solve the mortgage crisis and boost the economy… which didn’t do either. Now that people have seen the ill that comes from dumping taxpayer money from one place to another, citizens are loathe to have these same people running our health care system!
Because they say it will cost the taxpayers nothing is a lie, people know it. If it were “free” why is Democrat Max Baucus of Montana estimating a cost of $950 billion with his Senate version? A better question is why are McCain and Graham supporting it?
Thank you, Obama, for putting TARP and the Stimulus on the agenda first! They were a tremendous waste of money, but at least we still have our freedom! (Sort of…)
Second, Obama said he would be a uniter. He has united the country, just not the way he and his followers had envisioned. For some reason they thought the country was turning liberal and would accept their socialist ideas. Not so, as the recent DC Tea Party showed. In fact, I would suspect a lot of Democrats and Independents have joined the cause of conservatism.
Republicans are doing themselves no favors by standing behind the likes of John McCain, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, Charles Grassley and others. These people represent what is wrong with the Republican Party. At least Arlen Specter had the decency to switch parties to what he really represents. Now voters will get rid of him in the next election. Bottom line, Obama has united the grassroots like no other president before him. It’s just not to support him and his policies!

The President says the legislation is budget neutral. It’s a lie and saying it over and over will not make it true. The health care plan will cost trillions of additional dollars to insure every American, and Obama knows it. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are all broke because they cost more and more every year. So why continue to push the program and even lie in order to get people to support it? There are several reasons I can think of and have written about before in this column.
One reason is that by taking over one-sixth of our nation’s economy, it gives government much more power over our lives. Why would anyone in America want to do that? Why do people have this utopian idea that someday if we implement socialism completely and let the government take over everything all will be well. I guesss that’s what they really think. But it is not American. Freedom is what we are all about.
Another reason, and I think this is one that is never talked about, is that by nationalizing health care, all the workers in the private sector will then become government workers. Right now government unions, and unions in general, support Democrats. With new unions on board to support them, Democrats will be in power forever, or at least increase their chances to do so. To make my point, unions who have negotiated great benefits packages for their members are supporting Obamacare. Now why would they do that?
One of the reasons why we can’t do this is because we don’t have the money. Fortunately or unfortunately, the bad economy has opened people’s eyes that government is WAY over budget with no hopes of balancing it in the near future. We are broke, as a nation. The government is either borrowing or printing money at an alarming rate. Our politicians are like thieves who have stolen someone’s wallet and have been charging goods and services on the victim’s credit card with no regard to what will happen when the bill comes.
Another reason is that we are the United States of America. We are the beacon of freedom around the world. People have come here from other countries to get away from tyranny. So how does being FORCED into a government health care system fit into that? It doesn’t.
I was told by a fellow who runs a drug and alcohol treatment center something I will never forget. I asked him why he didn’t work with the government programs and only took patients who had private health insurance or could pay for treatment themselves. His response was that he had in the past. But he cautioned by saying, “you never want to do business with the government. Once you do, they are your partners and your ability to run the business the way you want is gone.” So it will be true with health care.
As I’ve pointed out before, what is to keep government from denying treatment to people who are now or ever have practiced bad health behavior by smoking or over-eating? Nothing. Once they run health care, it is the bureaucrats who will be making those decisions. If you don’t believe me, look at the IRS and how it is run.

If the Supreme Court won’t hear the case about the consitutional requirement of Obama to be a citizen when he won’t bring forth his birth certificate, why do we even have them? Obama’s Justice Department is urging a California judge to drop a case that is being fast tracked for January 26, 2010. Why would they do that? Wouldn’t you think if Obama had a birth certificate he would have trotted it out by now? The longer he waits the worse it looks. Originally, I thought it was just a right wing nut job conspiracy theorist putting this out there. But my guess is, he is NOT a citizen otherwise he would have proudly produced the document by now. If he finally shows it and I am wrong, then I will gladly say so. Just produce the damn thing already!
But if he is NOT a citizen, it will prove my case that Democrats will try and win AT ANY COST!

I have Obama fatigue. He is everywhere. Remember the book 1984 and Big Brother? This is where we are. You can’t go anywhere, turn on the television, open a newspaper without seeing his face or hearing his voice. This guys is ALWAYS on. He is doing another speech on Monday. With a compliant media, it is the worst. Do you remember George Bush being treated this way? And they say there is no media bias! How does he have time to run the country when he is always performing?

Today is community service day? Like we need a day for that INSTEAD of a remembrance 0f 9/11? This is something we, as Americans, already do out of the goodness of our hearts. I do not need an administration tool to tell me to give back to the community. I already do and have been for years. Maybe they are talking to those who are sucking off welfare? Doubt it. And don’t we pay taxes to get streets cleaned and trash picked up anyway?
Note to Granny who commented on the Marin Conservative Forum article I did on Wednesday; I know liberals because I used to be one. I know how you think. The best description I can give is one of moving the goal posts or changing the rules in the middle of the game. Also, you like to point fingers, but have no intellectual honesty when it comes to people you support.
Examples? Look at the recent bust on ACORN. I’m sure the two offenders were fired, but this is policy. Liberals who support the group will say it’s just a couple of bad “nuts” out of many good people. So where is that logic when it came to Abu Ghraib? Wasn’t it the entire military that was evil, not just a few individuals? So wouldn’t that apply to ACORN? You can’t have it both ways. ACORN is bad for America and should not be getting any of my money to operate.
You criticize big oil yet you drive around in your Prius and talk about saving the planet. Wake up! You still use oil and gas!
You criticize and want to tax the rich, yet you have some of the richest people running your Democrat party! Tax them!
You want people to pay taxes, but let Obama get away with nominating people to serve in his administration who are tax cheats!
You bash financial institutions and big car companies then turn around and cheer Obama when he bails them out! I thought you were against corporate welfare. What about corporate bailouts?
Another example would be the presidential elections of 2000 or the Minnesota senate race in 2008. Count and count until you get the number you want. In one case it was the right result for the wrong candidate. In another case it was the wrong result for the wrong candidate. You figure out which is which. Problem is, cheating to get the result you want is not honest. Win at any cost is your motto.
Another example, before the 2008 election, McCain was a great bi-partisan. As soon as he got the GOP nomination he had changed and gotten mean. Now that he lost (as he should have) he is a good guy again. Make up your mind! He’s good when he sides with Democrats but is wrong when he doesn’t.
Weapons of mass destruction. When will the left give that one up? They found them, they didn’t make a big deal about it because Bush wanted to tone down the rhetoric. Hussien USED them on his own people, yet they didn’t exist? Wake up, you fools!
Still another example would be Pelosi demanding an apology from Congressman Joe Wilson for his outburst, but she will not apologize to the CIA for lying about not knowing of the interrogation techniques when she was on the committee! Too arrogant to apologize, she is.
Finally, the left made a big deal that conservatives were criticizing Obama’s speech to the children which turned out to be nothing. Of course, it was okay when they went after Bush for talking to school kids. And of course Obama’s speech turned out to be nothing… he got so much static BEFORE the speech that he had to change it! Report that, CNN.

Where do I start? Just because the president says it, does that mean it’s true? I mean if he said the planet is going to be destroyed tomorrow unless we pass this health care plan, does that make it a fact? So why does Obama get away with all the lies he told in the joint session of congress?
Apparently Congressman Joe Wilson had it right. When Obama said the bill would NOT cover illegal aliens, Wilson called the President’s statement a lie. He has since apologized, but really shouldn’t have. Wilson is right. Well, technically he may not be, but Obama and liberal Democrat congress plan to introduce amnesty again late this year or early next year. I really think they expected to be on to something else by now, but the public’s outrage over the health care plan has really made them spend a lot of time selling it. Regardless, it will probably pass but could mean a demise for anyone who votes for it and is up for election in 2010.
People usually forget by election time, but not on this issue. And we will be reminding everyone in case they do!
One final note about the President’s speech to the kiddies. The media made a big deal about the fact that conservatives made such a big deal about his message and then were made to look bad when it was benign. Nein! Obama changed it once it was leaked what he was going to say… ask the kids to see what they could do to help HIM!

Congress is back in session… hold on to your wallets! There are a couple of destructive bills coming down the pike whether we want them or not. Keep and eye on this site to see which legislators vote for them.
One is the Cap and Trade bill. We will post here who voted for it so when their election is up in 2010, you know whether you want to support them or not.
The second is the Health Care bill. We have already made it clear we don’t want it, but the Obama administration is tone deaf. Obama along with cohorts Pelosi and Reid are determined to get this public “option” (can’t post that without laughing at the lie) through not matter what. Pelosi will push it because her seat is safe with all the San Francisco nutcases who will vote for her not matter what, and Reid because he is a weak leader in spite of his vulnerability in Nevada. Obama has 3+ years on his contract, so right now he has nothing to lose.
We will be watching very closely as these two bills will cripple our economy for years to come! And when they are passed, we will name the villains and the heroes who voted for and against them!

Michael Moore is at it again, but instead of going after the crooks who managed the financial bailout, our congressmen and women, he is targeting the financial institutions themselves. Of course. The big fat idiot doesn’t know the truth when he sees it. The film maker is so in bed with Democrat politicians, he couldn’t make a truthful documentary to save his life… And speaking of his life, what if he had a heart attack. Would Obama’s health plan pay for his procedure when he obviously is living an unhealthy lifestyle! Remember his health care movie? Perhaps he would end up in wonderful Cuba. Good ridance!

I was rehashing last week’s Kennedy funeral and memorial service. I heard one of the children of the Kennedy clan actually talked about health care as being a right during one of the invocations. First of all, they had a child do it because it’s hard to criticize a kid at a relative’s funeral. Imagine had someone gotten up during Reagan’s service and invoked something like, “Ronald Reagan was a champion of lower taxes all his life and so we pray that congress create a constitutional amendment saying the government shall not take more than 2% of a person’s income.” Lord hear our prayer!
Just this side of the Wellstone memorial, Kennedy’s supporters did tone it down, but only a little. Just because the guy worked hard for single payer health care does not mean it’s a good idea. What if he thought slavery was a good thing? We should bring it back just because he worked for it? Ridiculous.
Tax the wealthy. How has that been working for you? The rich still seem to be rich and the poor still seem to be poor. The worst of it is, none of the problems that were supposed to be fixed have been. So why do you dummies keep voting for politicians who espouse this nonsense?
Lawyers are some of the wealthiest people in the United States, yet Democrats and some Republicans refuse tort reform. Lawyers are one the biggest lobbying groups in Washington and give a lot of money to both parties, I would assume, but mostly they support Democrats. They are the biggest problem we have with affordable health care. It’s not the insurance companies who are to blame. Once again, it is the politicians.
Just as they stood back and pointed the finger during the mortgage meltdown that they caused, so they keep accusing the insurance industry of causing the problem. Get government out of the business of overregulating them, and we will really see competition.
People are catching on. I guess we have to thank Obama for that one! Way to go, rookie!
