I am writing this out of frustration with the PayPal process. If you can avoid it, NEVER use PayPal as your payment processing. They require you to give way too much information to receive payments from customers. And that’s not all.

First of all they charge a processing fee which takes a certain percentage from every transaction. To issue a check they charge another $1.50. It doesn’t seem like a lot but imagine the hundreds of thousands of transactions that are being processed every day and you can see how they afford the phone bank they employ to answer questions from frustrated users like us! But that’s not all!

Even after you verify your bank account to automatically transfer the funds into (to avoid the extra check charge), it takes anywhere from 4-6 business days to move the money. Although they have already received the money from your customer, they make you wait almost a week before you receive your funds. Why would that be?

If you think about it the $450 sits in their account for a week earning interest. Doesn’t sound like much but when you multiply an average of $1000 per transaction times the tens to hundreds of thousands of transactions they must see in a day, it adds up. It’s almost like the govenment’s withholding scam! The take the money from our paychecks and hold it all year. Then we get to beg for it back on April 15th, wait 4-6 weeks for the refund with NO FRIGGIN’ INTEREST!

Look, I am not against people earning a living, but wouldn’t it be just as easy for someone to pay by check? It would be lot less expensive too!

Is this woman trying to buy votes or what? After the story abour earmarks, I see this KTVU post about another $1 billion she is spending to “restore” the SF Bay. Where is the money coming from? Is she so confident they will get the VAT tax that they will have the money to pay for all this pork? Remember, this is not because of the commerce clause in the constitution they are doing this, but because of the EPA, another huge bureaucracy funded by us. We are not against cleaning up the bay, but use California’s money to do it… What? They are broke too? Those crazy Democrats! – Editor

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Hillsborough, was in South San Francisco Friday to announce the introduction of a bill to the U.S. Congress that would spend $1 billion to restore and clean up the San Francisco Bay.

The bill, the San Francisco Bay Improvement Act of 2010, would give the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency about $100 million annually over a 10-year period to fund projects that would restore the health of the Bay, which has been harmed by pollution, invasive species, and the loss of wetland habitat.

Speier said Congress has spent money on problems with other estuaries, including the Chesapeake Bay and the Great Lakes and hoped her fellow members of Congress would approve a bill for the Bay Area.

Marin Independent Journal
Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

If the same people who are running the post office are the ones who are going to be in charge of our health care, I can’t wait for the fun to begin.

Several years ago the post office required all bulk mailings to go out with the additional address line “or current resident” along with the regular address. This was done in case the person had moved the article was supposed to then be addressed to the current resident and would reduce returned mail. Of course, these are constantly being returned to us anyway regardless of this delivery order. But if you leave the line off you can be fined!

The newest thing is the change of address. Mailings are being returned to us with a sticker that says, “forwarding order expired” then gives the addressee’s new address. They obviously know where they have moved to, so why don’t they just deliver it? It should be interesting once government is managing health care. I expect similar inefficiencies will rear their ugly heads… only we might die because of it.

Dear friend of AFP,

It’s hard to believe, but 2010 is almost here. AFP California was hard at work in 2009. While the state continues on its track towards fiscal ruin, AFP has become the voice of reason in Sacramento and throughout the state.

As we reflect back on 2009, Americans of Prosperity of California decided to compile a list of the top 12 examples of the lack of common sense in California government. The video we put together displays some of the worst examples of government mismanagement.

It may be frustrating to be reminded of these instances of a complete lack of common sense in our state government, but they should spur us on towards reclaiming the Golden State. In 2010, AFP California will continue our fight to bring common sense to Sacramento.
