Herman Cain Checks In On Health Care – Tax Dollars Wasted

April 12, 2009

Hello Intelligent Thinker and Happy Easter!

“Universal Health Care” (more accurately, government controlled socialized sick care) will be on the agenda of the Democrat led Congress and President Obama in the very near future.

Most of the public has been led to believe that socialized medicine is “the answer” to the issues we face with our health care system. But many of us do not believe that we need to “blow up the building” to fix the “leaks in the roof”.

Each night last week on my radio show I did a special on “Unraveling the Lies about Health Care”. You can listen to those segments online or you can download them on http://wsbradio.com/inside/herman_cain.html, and look for Featured Audio.  I hope they will help you to become better informed about the truth, and less susceptible to the myths about health care.

Please enjoy!

Daily Rant – April 11, 2009

Taxes, taxes, taxes. As tax day looms and Tea Parties are getting into high gear all over the country, our government is moving forward on nationalized health care. What is their reasoning do you think? And why do people think something we are taxed for is FREE?

Another question; why would anyone want to pay $1000 for a $100 procedure? Yet that is exactly what we will be facing when government takes over our health insurance. Oh, it won’t all come at once. It will be like social security taxes. Everyone will contribute, drip by drip, over years of $5 and $10 tax deductions from our paychecks.

Just as Disability, Social Security and Medicare steal money that represents time away from our family and other enjoyable pursuits, so will the new health care plan. That’s another lump of money that will be taken from us and squandered in the form of more administrators who will make us take a number and stand in line to wait for our check ups and urgent medical needs, sometimes delaying the process to the point where nothing can be done to save our lives. That is why people with money will not participate in this scam.

So why do it at all? It’s not that popular of an idea. I have a theory. Once people become accustomed to having government see to our health needs, why would any sane person vote against someone who would threaten to take that away? More government dependence means more Democrat voters. Simple as that.

Let’s look at this new health care from an economics example. Let’s say the health care tax (they will call it an investment to FOOL the FOOLS) is an extra $30 a bi-weekly paycheck. Over one year that’s 26 paychecks and a gross deduction of $780 a year for FREE health care. For some people who have lots of health problems, that’s probably not very much. For a guy like me who pays $100 for a check up twice a year, that’s a LOT! That’s $500 I could invest in order to pay for my health expenses later on down the line if I need it.

And do you think you can hire someone to administer that government program, give them benefits and health care (yes, government employees will probably get for free what you and I have to pay for. They do now!) So if you have 6 million people subscribing for health care at $780 a year is $4,680,000,000 of OUR money taken in taxes every year, not to mention the government subsidies (either printed or borrowed) to get this behemoth up and running!

It’s embarassing to think that people who live in a country founded on free choice would so easily be duped into thinking this is a winning proposition. But put out free food and the rats will come and not ask questions. More to come, I’m sure.
