T. Boone Pickens Asks For Your Help… We Say NO!
January 29, 2009
Disclaimer from FedUpEditor: We do not support special interest spending, no matter what it is for. If the industry is viable as they claim wind power is, then it should be able to make it on its own merit. After all, HP was started in a garage without government money! So let’s just say “NO” to Boone. – FedUpEditor
From the desk of T. Boone Pickens
The U.S. House of Representatives is going to vote on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (which we all know as the “Stimulus Package”) next week. Probably Wednesday.
The Bill has a great deal of the Pickens Plan in it. It’s not everything we need, but it’s a strong start in the area of wind energy. Wind energy has been one of the few winners over the past 12 months and it was a record year for installations and for new jobs. The Stimulus Package will build on this success and keep moving wind energy forward in the face of this economic crisis.
The Stimulus Package has to get over the finish line – which means the U.S. Senate must pass a bill and both the House and the Senate have to work out any differences.
I need you to call your Member of Congress, as well as the Leadership in the U.S. House, to tell them this is a good first step, but more needs to be done. Implementing wind and solar aspects of the Pickens Plan will provide significant environmental benefits long term, but if we are to seriously reduce our dependence on foreign oil (and the national and economic threats it poses), then we have to get serious about replacing foreign oil, gasoline and diesel with domestic fuels, particularly natural gas.
We need incentives to promote natural gas trucks if we are to make a real dent in our foreign oil imports. We’ll keep working with them and I need you to tell them how much the New Energy Army supports what they’re doing and hopes they’ll keep doing more.
Please call Congress today. Visit your District Group page to coordinate with others in your Congressional District and to let us know about your efforts to contact your Member of Congress about this important piece of legislation.

Newsmax Reports ACORN Scam Is Part of Bailout Bill!
January 28, 2009
It just gets worse and worse. The news about this bail out plan is finally coming out, and it is not good! Do you know what ACORN is? Remember that Obama was a “community organizer”. Well, he worked for ACORN. Despite its benign sounding name, ACORN is really a left-wing political activist group bent on getting Democrats elected whether they get the votes or not. Kind of like what Al Franken is doing in Minnesota! – FedUpEditor.
Obama’s Bill Hands ACORN $5.2 Billion Bailout
By: David A. Patten
A rising chorus of GOP leaders are protesting that the blockbuster Democratic stimulus package would provide up to a whopping $5.2 billion for ACORN, the left-leaning nonprofit group under federal investigation for massive voter fraud.
Most of the money is secreted away under an item in the now $836 billion package titled “Neighborhood Stabilization Programs.”
Ordinarily, neighborhood stabilization funds are distributed to local governments. But revised language in the stimulus bill would make the funds available directly to non-profit entities such as ACORN, the low-income housing organization whose pro-Democrat voter-registration activities have been blasted by Republicans. ACORN is cited by some for tipping the scales in the Democrats’ favor in November.
According to Fox news, Sen. David Vitter, R-La., could appear to be a “payoff” for community groups’ partisan political activities in the last election cycle.
“It is of great concern to me,” Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., tells Newsmax. “I think our government has stayed strong because we’ve had a two-party system, we have had robust debate, people have felt that it was one man-one vote. They are privileged and grateful that they have that ability to cast that vote. And when something is done to belittle or diminish that, it is of great concern to me.”
Regarding ACORN, Blackburn added, “Additional funds going to these organizations that have tried to skew that system, it causes me great concern and I believe that it causes many of my colleagues great concern.”
The three-term congressman stopped short of suggesting the “neighborhood stabilization” money is a power grab by Democrats seeking partisan political advantage. But radio talk giant Rush Limbaugh did not.

We are right now engaged in some of the most important battles in CAGW’s and our nation’s history as we fight tooth-and-nail to stop the record spending increase that has been proposed in the name of “economic stimulus.” That’s why I urgently need you to become a 2009 CAGW CHARTER MEMBER today. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has just released a study projecting that more than half of the hundreds of billions of dollars in spending on infrastructure in the economic stimulus package — such as $26 billion of the $30 billion allocated for highways and $15.5 billion of the $18.5 billion for renewable energy projects — won’t occur for more than two years. In other words, the massive stimulus package is going to waste record amounts of money, won’t provide an immediate stimulus for the economy, and will only add to our nation’s soaring liabilities. We urgently need your support today to get this message out to the American public and raise an overwhelming outcry against this monstrous waste. But before I tell you more, let me say I am deeply concerned that you may not have received my recent e-mail inviting you to become a 2009 CAGW CHARTER MEMBER. In my e-mail, I detailed a number of the critical victories that we won last year:
Thanks to you, we are the most recognized and powerful voice for less wasteful spending and lower taxes in America today. The effectiveness and influence in Washington that you have helped CAGW achieve was highlighted by the fact that Senator John McCain singled us out and referenced our important work in ALL THREE of the nationally televised Presidential Debates. In addition to our drive to stop the wasteful and useless infrastructure spending in the economic stimulus package, CAGW is right now waging an all-out battle to offset as much as possible of the cost of the stimulus and earlier financial bailouts with cuts in documented wasteful spending. As America’s #1 Taxpayer Watchdog organization, CAGW knows where the government waste is and how to cut it, and we are the nationally recognized leader of this drive. Without offsetting cuts, the CBO has predicted that the deficit will reach a stunning $1.2 trillion this year — even before the enactment of the economic stimulus bill! What’s more, we are at the forefront of the effort to stop the plan to create 600,000 new government jobs under the stimulus package. This plan would add roughly the same number of employees to the government payroll as now work in the entire U.S. Postal Service, dramatically and permanently expanding the size and cost of the federal bureaucracy. At the same time, we are preparing for a bruising healthcare battle since many in Congress want to go far beyond President-elect Barack Obama’s plan and put government in control of your doctor and what healthcare treatments you can receive. And we are also spearheading the effort to combat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others in Congress who are calling for the elimination of all or part of the Bush tax cuts even before they expire in 2011. Repealing the tax cuts would cost the average taxpayer $1,833 more per year in taxes and deepen our economic recession. That is why I want to urge you in the strongest terms possible to please take a moment right now to become a 2009 CAGW CHARTER MEMBER by making your largest possible membership contribution of $25, $35, $50, or even $100. With your help today, CAGW will play a central role in many of the upcoming fights, but we need you! Please join today and be as generous as you can. As you decide how much you want to contribute to become a CHARTER MEMBER, I think it is important for you to remember that unlike many of our opponents, CAGW does not receive a penny in government funds. Our ability to fight the tax-and-spend politicians all depends on your financial support today. With the battles over massive new wasteful spending, record deficits, tax increases, government-run healthcare, and a host of other critical issues looming, we urgently need your support in 2009. Please become a CHARTER MEMBER of CAGW today by making a contribution of $25, $35, $50, or even $100. This is a historic moment. We need your help. Thank you. |
Obama’s “Fans” Leave Behind 130 Tons of Garbage
January 23, 2009
I thought these people loved the earth? Apparently Obama’s followers haven’t gotten the message that we are causing the pollution on the planet. And now you and I have to pay for cleaning it up!
From the Patriot Post – 1/23/09
Strange, but I seem to recall that the Leftmedia skewered George W. Bush for spending almost $40 million on his first inauguration, proclaiming the events to be “grotesque” and all about “excess.”
But with deficit spending estimated to fly past the trillion-dollar mark in Obama’s first year in office, not one of his media sycophants has questioned the cost of this week’s events. Perhaps that is because it cost a mere $.00017 trillion, or about $1.25 million for each of the 130 tons of garbage his constituents dumped on the Mall.

Obama Announces Massive Government Programs
December 8, 2008
Think about it. Democrats want to take over private industry so that all workers will be government employees, all union, mostly voting Democrat. What else could it be to use our tax money to CREATE JOBS instead of SETTING POLICIES which allows the free market to prosper and create jobs.
GRASSFIRE.ORG is out to do something about it:
Over the weekend, President-elect Barack Obama launched his solution to America’s economic struggles…
More and more government spending!
More bailouts. Hundreds of billions for “New Deal” style public works projects. Billions and billions more for schools. Billions and billions to make federal buildings “green.” Even though our federal deficit is at $10 trillion and growing, Obama says “we can’t worry in the short term about the deficit.”
+ + Obama’s march to socialism
As many analysts have predicted, Barack Obama is using the economic struggles to orchestrate the largest expansion of government power in history!
And all this government money will come with strings attached that ultimately limit our freedoms. Decisions like the kind of car you can drive, your home mortgage, and the light bulbs in your house will be made by politicians and bureaucrats!
+ + Help me Resist Obama
A few weeks ago Grassfire launched a national “Join The Resistance”
campaign to unite grassroots Americans in a patriotic, resilient, conservative resistance to Obama’s far-left agenda.
We now have over 260,000 citizens joined together. But we must grow by hundreds of thousands to be ready for what Obama will unleash on Day One.
Please go here to Join the Resistance:

Political Magicians Turn $700 Billion into $7.4 Trillion
November 24, 2008
If this doesn’t make you mad, then nothing will. Of course, most people, under educated as they are, think that the government is this other entity and that their money comes from somewhere else. Not from you and me. Actually, they way politicians are spending us into the ground and printing money like there is no tomorrow or selling our debt to the Chinese, that would be the factual. But in truth, who will pay when the bill comes due? Problem is, when government spends money, they don’t actually walk up to you that day and ask for it. So there is not a cause and effect reality check for most people. Because they don’t “see” the money getting taken from their pockets when politicians spend it, many people don’t realize just how expensive our government has become.
Anyway, Glenn Beck predicted when government proposed the $700 billion bailout, in gov-speak, he said it would end up actually being $2 trillion. They always under-estimate to sell it to the public. And so they have. Now the $2 trillion has turned into $7.4 trillion. Read the article here at Glenn’s website.
